Duskaro is an adults-only app
Duskaro is for people aged 18 and over. It is rated 18+ and is not directed to children. Accounts we believe belong to someone under 18 are removed, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Duskaro helps adults find and attend real-world public events in Johannesburg.
Zero tolerance for CSAE
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is absolutely prohibited on Duskaro. This includes, without limitation:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, video, text, links or descriptions.
- Sexualisation of a minor, including drawings, animation, AI-generated or edited imagery.
- Grooming, sextortion, solicitation of a minor, or any attempt to arrange contact with a minor for a sexual purpose.
- Trafficking of a minor, or advertising, trading or soliciting CSAE material.
- Any event, post, profile, message or chat that promotes, normalises or facilitates the above.
There is no warning and no second chance for CSAE. Accounts are removed permanently and immediately.
How we prevent and detect it
- Age gate. Duskaro is distributed with an 18+ audience rating on Google Play and a 4+/adult-oriented listing on the App Store, and the product is built and marketed for adults only.
- Content filtering. Text written anywhere in the app — posts, comments, event listings, stories, profiles and chat — is screened against a prohibited-terms list. The check runs both in the app and again on our servers, so it cannot be bypassed by a modified client. Terms relating to child sexual abuse are on that list and are blocked at the point of writing.
- Reporting on every surface. Every profile, event, post and message can be reported from its "..." menu, and every report reaches a queue we act on.
- Blocking. Any user can block any other user. Blocking is enforced at the database level in both directions, so blocked accounts cannot see or contact each other.
- Account removal. We can remove content and permanently delete an offending account.
How to report child sexual abuse or exploitation
In the app, use Report on the profile, event, post or message. For anything urgent, or to reach a person directly, email uzandigitalofficial@gmail.com with “CHILD SAFETY REPORT” in the subject line. Reports sent this way are prioritised above all other support mail.
How we respond
- We aim to review any report of CSAE within 24 hours of receiving it.
- Confirmed CSAE content is removed and the account is permanently banned.
- We preserve the relevant records and report the matter to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and we cooperate fully with law enforcement.
- In South Africa, child sexual abuse material must also be reported to the South African Police Service. Anyone can contact the SAPS Crime Stop line on 08600 10111, or Childline South Africa on 116 (free, 24 hours).
